The last couple of days were spent fishing w/ Fortune Cookie and his dad. We had to wake up at 5:30 both mornings w/c, needless to say, can be a tad difficult to do when you're on vacation. The trip from Kirkland to Oak Harbor took almost 2 hours including a ferry ride. The first day, I just sat and observed and tried reeling fish in. Reeling is the hardest part for me since I have very weak upper arm strength.. if any at all.
On the second day, I officially tried my hand at fishing. This was my first time, and it was more fun than I thought; I even caught one! The water only had salmon, and I learned that the fish start coming in when the tide is high. You can also tell that there is more of an abundance when you see them jumping out of the water.

Just wondering, did you partake of the fish you caught? Oh, yes, can you thank Fortune Cookie's Dad for the fish he gave us? I made fish sarciado, a Filipino dish-just fried the fish, then topped with sauce made of tomatoes, onions, garlic and scrambled eggs.
