I'm sure I am really delayed on this one, but I just read the cover story on France's First Lady, Carla Bruni, from Vanity Fair's September 2008 issue, and I am officially fascinated.
If you don't know anything about her or her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy, I highly recommend reading this article for an introduction to the insane, 'I can't believe this happens in real life!' story of Carla and the President's relationships. Their lives (and their pasts!) are like a high-budget, much more sophisticated, soap opera on steroids, and the article is only about 14 pages!
It would be interesting to read more detailed accounts of their lives. I'm sure they'd be as juicy as any of the novels I've read!
