Today I feel incredibly alive. Nothing special in particular took place, but when I was walking in the park with Fortune Cookie, I felt an exceptionally strong surge of happiness and elation flow through my veins. I looked around the park, and people were jogging, paddling boats, and participating in aerobics classes. The weather was warm and sunny, and we could see the city’s skyline across the lake and the trees. It was a perfect blend of people, nature and urban life. Bangkok is brimming with so much life that you can’t help but be affected by it. Fortune Cookie’s arms and mine were linked together, and we were literally skipping through the park. I looked up at him with a big smile on my face and said, “I'm so happy”. He smiled back and said the same.
I am in such a great place in my life right now. Earlier this week, Fortune Cookie and I moved out of Wendy House and into a 1-bedroom apartment in the Lumpini area, a great neighborhood located north of Lumpini Park (the Central Park of Bangkok) and south of all the major malls. It’s also a few blocks from the AUA school where I take my course. It’s a great location, and we both love the place. It came fully furnished, and we even have a maid. It’s a nice big space for the both of us, and we will now be able to entertain guests coming in from out of town.
I have also been having such a great time in my TESOL course. I have enjoyed learning about teaching, meeting new people, and practicing my teaching in actual classes. It has been incredibly fun so far. Everything just feels so right.
Fortune Cookie is wonderful as usual, and until now, I still can’t believe we are still this excited to be around each other after 2 years of being together.
Life is simply wonderful.
