New Year's Eve in Bangkok
I had long given up trying to make New Year's resolutions since they never end up being fulfilled; however, this year, I have more hope. 2010 seems to hold so much promise and potential. I read on some magazine that it is a year for radical change for ALL signs. Fluff I know, but at least this time around I have an accountability partner to remind me of my promises. Let's cross our fingers!
New Year's Resolutions:
1. Be more social / Network more
I can be a complete homebody sometimes and would rather stay in my nice little comfort zone and read or watch movies/TV shows (I've recently bought a ton of cheap, burned DVDS - being in Southeast Asia makes it easy. This has temporarily relieved my Netflix withdrawal). I have decided to get out there, try to be more proactive about meeting people, be more patient with different personalities and do a better job of keeping in touch with friends and acquaintances (I'm horrible, HORRIBLE, at e-mailing back.).
2. Read more 'difficult' books.
I'm a huge fan of novels (can't imagine life without them), so, aside from the classics, I've decided to add more non-fiction to my reading list.
3. Learn Thai.
I plan on taking a Thai language class starting this month. I simply can't keep on saying 'sa wat dee ka' and 'korb kun ka' over and over and over again. :)
4. Eat more fruits
Fortune Cookie tried to force me to add "eat more vegetables", but I'm trying to be realistic here.
:)
