Ohh.. I've just been treated to such a delightful hidden gem. It's one of those films where you go into it with no expectations whatsoever and come out of it floating on air. This is what the French movie Heartbreaker has done for me. It's about a guy who is paid to break up relationships where the women are unhappy. Even though his method is seduction, he manages to reach his goals without ever having to sleep with them. He relies on his charm, wit and improvisation. He is also supported by his sister and her husband (who are both a hoot!), and their powers combined make such a solid, effective, hilarious and unbeatable team. Things change however when he ends up falling in love with one of his target women who is played by the beautiful Vanessa Paradis - Johnny Depp's wife.
I know the plot sounds quite banal but the movie managed to execute it in such a refreshing way. I found myself glued to the characters, the dialogue, the gorgeous scenery, and the wonderful humor. It also helps that it's French. ;)
If you're into romantic comedies, watch it!
